About Grace To Change

At GraceToChange, they utilize a multi-modal approach to counseling, including psycho-educational groups, process groups, and an eclectic blend of individual counseling techniques designed to meet each client's specific need.
Their Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) consists of 18 group counseling sessions, three times per week for six weeks, plus a minimum of four one-hour individual counseling sessions.
GraceToChange offers weekly aftercare support for all clients at no additional charge for a period of one year following successful completion of their initial treatment plan.
Not only do their clients have the opportunity to continue learning and growing in their sobriety, they are also able to create and maintain critical sober relationships with other group members.
Additionally, clients who are farther along in their recovery are able to mentor and encourage those who are newer to the program.

Is this treatment center really free?

Most of the listings on this website are free; however, we decided it would also be helpful for our visitors to see sliding scale treatment centers (which are based on your income and you can qualify for free treatment) and low cost rehab centers for low income persons.

Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in McKinney, TX

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.
Choosing a rehab center is an important decision. By following these tips, you can find a free rehab center in McKinney, TX that is right for you.

Free Rehab Centers in Nearby Cities

Since many of our rehab centers are sliding scale, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the Grace To Change website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care based on your income from the sliding fee scale.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2023

Persons In Family Household Poverty Guideline Salary per year
1 $14,580
2 $19,720
3 $24,860
4 $30,000
5 $35,140
6 $40,280
7 $45,420
8 $50,560

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

Hello I was told about your resources today by a client i clean house for. I have a 32 yr old daughter who has an alcohol addictions is very much on denial. She has never had a driver's license but she got them suspended anyway. Her vehicle is in my name as well as her insurance she has had 2 wrecks and gotten quite a few tickets and I now know she was intoxicated at the time of her wrecks. I love her she is my child but she sent me a photo of her this week and the skin is gone from her face !!! YES her face apparently she fell on a curb and skinned both side of her face !!!! I feel I have enabled her for so long she has no respect for me left. It sickens me to look at her photos of her face I am not sure how to help her at this point it will not get any better only worse I fear she is gonna hurt someone or herself again I wish at times the police would pick her up on the tickets she let go to warrants at least she will sober up some she has the grandiose attitude is high on her pedistool like a princess. Please tell me how to handle this because up til now I have failed her....

My son does not have insurance but definitely has a alcohol problem. He will be 26 yrs in March and is now facing charges of a DWI and a felon and his father and I can't even get him to understand the importance of hiring a lawyer to try and protect his record for life. He needs treatment as a inpatient, however like I said he has no insurance and is not working. He drinks almost every day and I am so afraid of what he is doing to his body, liver and kidneys, that he is just slowly killing his self. He now has a interlocking device on his car and now cannot drive because of the license being suspended which is actually good, right now. What are his chances of getting in as an inpatient for treatment?
