Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in Citra, FL

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.
Choosing a rehab center is an important decision. By following these tips, you can find a free rehab center in Citra, FL that is right for you.

Free Rehab Centers in Nearby Cities

Since many of our rehab centers are sliding scale, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the Phoenix House Citra Center website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care based on your income from the sliding fee scale.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2023

Persons In Family Household Poverty Guideline Salary per year
1 $14,580
2 $19,720
3 $24,860
4 $30,000
5 $35,140
6 $40,280
7 $45,420
8 $50,560

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

My son is on drugs. He currently goes to a clinic in Ocala and gets methadone. He gets other drugs from wherever and goes crazy screaming for hours and reorganizing everything. He was working but now unemployed., Has no money and has put me in great financial difficulty. I am 67 years old and still working full time and cannot pay my bills because I have supported him for many years. I have had enough and only because I haven't had any money to send him somewhere have I not done something about this before. I want my son back. I have no problem him living with me if he is working and not on drugs. I get scared thinking of what will happen to him when I am gone. If you can help please contact me. I am working 11 to 6 today anf off tomorrow Tuesday. Thank you. Kathleen Greco

It's important to stay healthy yourself. when addiction is in a family the whole family gets sick over time. family members worry and stress out over it. family members try to support their addicted member and very often loose all they have and find themselves in financial trouble. addiction doesnt care where the money comes from it takes and when family members support the addicted person it gives them the ability to continue and puts hardship on the household. even rich families are taken to their knees with the costs of active addiction. tough love is needed on your part. stop supporting him. keep basic foods in the house and thats it. try your best to stay healthy by going to an alanon meeting. get the focus back on yourself and your own well being. addiction always takes more and more money and always gets worse without help from others.
