Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in Raleigh, NC

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.
Choosing a rehab center is an important decision. By following these tips, you can find a free rehab center in Raleigh, NC that is right for you.

No I've never been to free rehab program, in fact I have never tried to get treatment. But I am willing and ready to try as soon as I can find a program that will take me in. I'm not financially stable to pay for treatment for my addiction

Free Rehab Centers in Nearby Cities

Since many of our rehab centers are sliding scale, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the Arbor Counseling and Substance Abuse Serivces website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care based on your income from the sliding fee scale.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2023

Persons In Family Household Poverty Guideline Salary per year
1 $14,580
2 $19,720
3 $24,860
4 $30,000
5 $35,140
6 $40,280
7 $45,420
8 $50,560

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

I’m in the hospital and would like to know more about your program.

I have had an addiction to crack cocaine since 1996. I have done incarceration. From 1996 to 2012. I have been a free person for the past 10 years I don't commit the crimes that I used to because of my addiction but I am still addicted nonetheless. I want so bad to see how it feels to be addiction free. I tried to admit myself to triangle springs rehab in Raleigh today but I was turned down because of no medical insurance. I have Medicaid but it's family planning Medicaid that doesn't cover addiction treatment. So I was denied substance abuse treatment. I didn't realize it was so hard to get admitted for such a serious situation. I lost my job due to my addiction and I need help so I can find another are there any programs that will treat a long time addict like myself who is a level 6 felon with no money or financial stability to pay for my treatment.
