Description

Outreach, Screening, Assessment and Referral The OSAR program is designed to help those individuals affected directly or indirectly by substance abuse and dependency. The OSAR program offers information and education on the effects of drug use on the individual and family. This service is available by phone, individual appointment and presentation to various civic organization, agencies and groups that would benefit from this information. Individuals needing substance abuse services will be scheduled for a screening to identify the extent of the substance abuse problem and discuss referral options based on the result of the screening. The OSAR program is designed to reach out to those individuals who live in the Deep East Texas area and who have no means to pay for the treatment of substance abuse.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2021

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

Sliding Scale Treatment Fees that are variable based on the clients ability to pay. Fees are reduced for lower income persons or have less money due to high expenses.

Non Profit Treatment Many non profit treatment programs are free or are lower cost due to the non profit organizations status.

Faith Based Treatment Many religious organizations offer drug and alcohol recovery treatment at no cost as part of their ministry services. Many also offer payment assistance for those that qualify.
