Mission Statement

Serving the Alcoholic and Drug Addicted Underserved.

About CARP West Palm Beach

Comprehensive Alcoholism Rehabilitation Programs, IncCARP's goal is to help break the cycle of hopeless addiction, dependency and resulting homelessness among Palm Beach Countys economically vulnerable residents.
CARP is resuming its original mission, to serve the under-served alcoholic and drug addicted, and is currently building two gender-specific 12-step homes.
Each home will have 24 beds and will provide a stable home-like environment for homeless and/or indigent men and women suffering from alcohol or drug addiction in Palm Beach County, so they may practice living a life of recovery embodied in the 12 Steps.
CARP residences will employ a peer-to-peer, 12-step recovery model proven to be effective against addiction.
They will also collaborate with numerous community services in Palm Beach County to empower the residents, providing them with tools to become productive members of society.
Each resident will earn his or her own way, and will be expected to become self-supporting.
Meetings will be mandatory.
Facilitators will make certain that all residents participate, with sponsorship.
Residents who leave the residency programs will be invited to continue to be a part of CARPs community to ensure its long-term strength and sustainability.

Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in West Palm Beach, FL

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.
Choosing a rehab center is an important decision. By following these tips, you can find a free rehab center in West Palm Beach, FL that is right for you.

Free Rehab Centers in Nearby Cities

Since many of our rehab centers are sliding scale, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the CARP West Palm Beach website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care based on your income from the sliding fee scale.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2023

Persons In Family Household Poverty Guideline Salary per year
1 $14,580
2 $19,720
3 $24,860
4 $30,000
5 $35,140
6 $40,280
7 $45,420
8 $50,560

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
