About SalusCare Ortiz Campus

Outpatient Therapy Services consist of voluntary therapy and counseling, in both individual and group settings, for those with a mental health or substance abuse diagnosis. Before beginning outpatient therapy, an assessment must be conducted to determine the appropriate level of care. After the assessment, a clinician will review your treatment options and work with you and your family to find the best possible option. Outpatient Therapy is provided at the Evans Campus, Ortiz Campus, and Cape Coral Campus.

Is this treatment center really free?

Most of the listings on this website are free; however, we decided it would also be helpful for our visitors to see sliding scale treatment centers (which are based on your income and you can qualify for free treatment) and low cost rehab centers for low income persons.

Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in Fort Myers, FL

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.
Choosing a rehab center is an important decision. By following these tips, you can find a free rehab center in Fort Myers, FL that is right for you.

Since many of our rehab centers are sliding scale, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the SalusCare Ortiz Campus website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care based on your income from the sliding fee scale.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2023

Persons In Family Household Poverty Guideline Salary per year
1 $14,580
2 $19,720
3 $24,860
4 $30,000
5 $35,140
6 $40,280
7 $45,420
8 $50,560

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

Due to the covid19 I didn't attend my meeting for drug therapy. I have two amazing kids and I didn't want them to get sick either. IAM on Pre-trial diversion court order to go but with covid19 I didn't want to risk my kids and family's health. Now my PO wants to violate me. I also didn't have the money to pay for it. I called the lighthouse addition service and tried to call my therapist but I later found out that the calls were being directed to Port Charlotte office and they couldn't get ahold of the office in Fort Myers I tried to reach my therapist through email and it kept coming back email blocked on her side I found out since I and I attended she was no longer my therapist they let her go and they have new assistants in the office. My PO will not send another referral for me to start attending them again and wants to violate me but I could not risk the health and well-being of my kids and family during this pandemic I'm full willing to attend these courses and classes and group sessions and pay what I can but I am still trying to make ends meet and try to get these fines paid and classes done I don't know which way to turn now my poed is just sick of me I've know that here is a personal vendetta against me because my youngest daughter's father I was dating my POS friend that was a cop also and now they're no longer together and we are trying to work things out. my PO wants to lock me up for a year. is there any way you can help at least if I go in front of a judge it shows I am trying to attend some kind of drug therapy to show that I'm serious about this end to make them happy. I can't go to jail my kids need there mom and I need them. IAM a single mom just trying to get her life back on track. Please if there's anything I will do it. Thank you
