These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income.
When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
The most incompetent and inhumane therapist I have ever worked with, and there have been many. She provides no empathy for clients, judges clients harshly, and completely abandons clients if they relapse with no transition plan for aftercare. I also felt judged not only on my addiction but also my personal life. I would STRONGLY discourage LGBTQ+ individuals from working with her, as she is clueless to our needs. Addiction therapy should be a space where individuals can be accepted for who they are, shortcomings and all. Instead, I felt consistently judged, shamed and infantilized by someone with an LCSW and minimal training; most clients are court ordered. She has also drank the “abstinence-only” 12 Step cult Kool Aid, ZERO TOLERANCE FOR HARM REDUCTION. If you really want help, find a clinical psychologist instead. It is now taking me time to work through the damage she has done to me with a COMPETENT mental health professional. Meng does much more harm than good - look for others.
