Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in Asheville, NC

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.
Choosing a rehab center is an important decision. By following these tips, you can find a free rehab center in Asheville, NC that is right for you.

Free Rehab Centers in Nearby Cities

Since many of our rehab centers are sliding scale, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the BHG Ashvill Treatment Center website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care based on your income from the sliding fee scale.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2023

Persons In Family Household Poverty Guideline Salary per year
1 $14,580
2 $19,720
3 $24,860
4 $30,000
5 $35,140
6 $40,280
7 $45,420
8 $50,560

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.

I'm 27 yrs old. I have been using opiates since 2010 heavy usage. My ole lady got pregnant 3 yrs ago and we had our beautiful babygirl Nov of 2018. I got clean using subs. My ole lady and baby left me about 4 months ago. I tried herion for the first time snorting it for the first week. Then I started to shoot it.. I am beyond hooked now. It's so much stronger of a withdrawal and has mentally broke me. I need help. I have insurance BCBS.

I am 27 and have been on opiates since covid hit and I lost my job. I was previously on pain pills and I quit and thought I would never go back. I was in a great place in my life. Once i lost my job and basically was at home 24/7 due to Covid I fell into a depression, I let things pile up and I wound up in the same position except on H, not just pills. I need detox, I've tried to quit multiple times on my own and made it 2/3 days but i didn't have zubsolv like I did the first time I got off of opiates. I took zubsolv for about a year and then quit it easily. I have Molina Insurance, it isn't good Insurance, I got it because it was free. I need to know if you accept it or that if I don't have insurance if I can still qualify for free detox, I'm out of work again as of 3 weeks ago because I couldn't keep up due to my addiction and i need assistance to get off of this.

I've been needing to get into rehab for the last 9 months. My treatment for outpatient has been just finished 2 weeks ago. Part of my court ordered sentence was to complete 30 day inpatient treatment. I do not have insurance and rely on the people i now live with. I just want to get finished with this and start my life.

We are trying to locate a free medically Detox program in North Carolina. A year ago my son finished medically detox program at CRC in Kannapolis, attended rebound and Charlotte North Carolina for four months and followed with a religion based program for almost 4 months in Lenoir. He Relapsed over Christmas and has been using Fentanyl ever since. In the past two months he has been rejected at three different CRC programs and we’re trying to locate a free facility as he is determined to get clean. Two weeks ago he was excepted at the CRC Monroe, but unfortunately tested positive for Covid.
