About Union Gospel Mission Sacramento Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program

9 Month In-House Free Rehabilitation ProgramFor those that want to change their lives,

Intake hours for their In house Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program are:

  • Monday through Thursday. 10:00 AM  to  11:00 AM and 1:00 PM  to  2:00 PM

Those interested must talk to Pastor Tom Mooney or Stephen Jarrett to fill out an application, if there is an opening.

How it works, Monday through Thursday when their "Back Gate opens at 9:00 AM", candidates for the Drug and Alcohol program will go up to the mail-room window and tell the program man they are interested in the Program.

He will write their name down.

It is "First Come, First Serve". When the staff is finished with morning prayer service (around 10:00 AM) they will have all those that are interested in the program to come in and fill out an application that will give the staff more understanding.

The candidate will talk to three staff members, two being Pastors.

Is this treatment center really free?

Most of the listings on this website are free; however, we decided it would also be helpful for our visitors to see sliding scale treatment centers (which are based on your income and you can qualify for free treatment) and low cost rehab centers for low income persons.

Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in Sacramento, CA

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.
Choosing a rehab center is an important decision. By following these tips, you can find a free rehab center in Sacramento, CA that is right for you.

I've been using opiates since 2006 then reached an all time low when I landed in jail in January 2016. I was clean for 2 years then relapsed Feb 2018 and now i cant stop because the shame and guilt is triple fold compared to my last stretch of drug use. I need help.

Free Rehab Centers in Nearby Cities

Since many of our rehab centers are sliding scale, we have provided the Federal Poverty Guidelines below. Visit the Union Gospel Mission Sacramento Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program website listed above to see what the level is needed for free care based on your income from the sliding fee scale.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2023

Persons In Family Household Poverty Guideline Salary per year
1 $14,580
2 $19,720
3 $24,860
4 $30,000
5 $35,140
6 $40,280
7 $45,420
8 $50,560

For Households with more than 8 persons, add $4,480 for each additional person.
*Alaska and Hawaii have different rates for HUD federal poverty guidelines.
These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get reduced or free treatment from some substance abuse centers, they use a sliding fee scale based on your income. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
