Tips on Choosing a Free Rehab Center in Wichita, KS

  • Make sure the center is accredited. Accreditation means that the center has met certain standards of quality and patient care. You can find accredited rehab centers by visiting the websites of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) or The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Check the center's track record. How long has the center been in operation? What is its success rate? You can find this information by reading online reviews or by contacting the center directly.
  • Consider the center's treatment approach. Does the center offer a variety of treatment modalities, or does it focus on one approach? What is the center's philosophy on addiction treatment?
  • Find out what the center's aftercare program is like. Aftercare is essential to long-term recovery. Make sure the center you choose offers a comprehensive aftercare program.
  • Make sure the center is a good fit for you. Consider your individual needs and preferences when choosing a rehab center. For example, if you have a co-occurring mental health disorder, you'll need to find a center that offers dual diagnosis treatment.

Here are some additional tips:

  • Ask about the center's admission process. What documentation do you need to provide? Is there a waiting list?
  • Find out what the center's policies are on insurance and financial assistance. Will the center accept your insurance? Does the center offer financial assistance to patients who need it?
  • Visit the center in person, if possible. This will give you a chance to meet the staff, see the facilities, and get a feel for the center's atmosphere.
  • Talk to people who have been to the center. Ask them about their experiences and whether they would recommend the center to others.

I was at WTC for exactly 6 years tell I decided to leave the facility one week ago today. The highest dose I was given was 115mg. I would say 2 years ago was when I decided it was time to officially kick methodon to the curb. I knew I was ready. I had no more cravings or desire to use opioids illegally for my pain. I knew I had to find a doctor who would actually listened to me an acknowledge I am telling the truth on how I feel. This is my opinion an my opinion alone but, in the past I had felt multiple times by different doctor's that would make me feel ignored. Like my cry for help ment nothing. I always had this gut feeling it was due to my age

I knew I had to find a doctor who would actually listened to me an acknowledge I am telling the truth on how I feel. This is my opinion an my opinion alone but, in the past I had felt multiple times by different doctor's that would make me feel ignored. Like my cry for help ment nothing. I always had this gut feeling it was due to my age "I'm 31" an that doctors I would visit in the past was left believing I was only after opioids to abuse in some way or another. Which left me feeling hopeless. So when I had heard of the methodon clinic after trying for many years to treat my symptoms with illegal street opioids. So I figured that was the best place for me to be at the time, an let me tell you it was. After 4 years of being in the program I decided to take the leap from my highest dose of 115mg to 100mg. I stayed at 100mg for about 6 months until I knew it was time to dramatically decrease my dose. I started weening myself down 6mg every other week untill I got to 28 mg. I felt great tell I got to 28mg so I stopped. Methodon did help me get my life back buti knew deep down I would never be able to free myself from this place so I quit the program a week ago. Since I can tell I have been detoxing but I still have no cravings or desire to use. I not only left this place to finally get off methodon but because of how the staff treat every single one of us. They make up rules as they go. I have been told multiple times I had a dirty UA when I know I did not have one. They make you feel like you are on probation when we put ourselves in the program to better ourselves. They have horrible Hours of Operation. Every other clinic in wichita has a fine reputation. The Wichita Treatment Center is the only facility in Wichita that takes State an Elderly Insurance, which shouldn't come to a surprise while the facility is so messed up in many ways
