About Sobering Center at Volunteers of America San Diego

The Sobering Center is an inebriate reception center for law enforcement referrals to provide an alternate to incarceration for individuals who are found to be publicly intoxicated. The four-hour voluntary placements allow a safe and controlled environment for public inebriates to sleep off the effects of alcohol before returning to the community. All placements are provided information and referrals to alcohol treatment services in the community.
